Leadership

Reverend Steve Hubbard has been Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church since 2002. He holds a bachelors degree from Cedarville University in Marketing and minors in Political Science and Bible. He is currently continuing his education at Andersonville Theological seminary, working toward a Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry. Prior to coming to Ebenezer Baptist Church, he was the Associate Pastor at Grand Stand Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 1990 to 2002. Areas of responsibility at Grand Strand included youth, education, ministry coordination and all pastoral responsibilities in senior pastor’s absence as well as family and marital counseling. He also organized community evangelism campaigns and worked on the statewide Jesus Video offering theological, biblical training and education.Pastor Steve and his wife Catrina are the parents of Caleb (Shelby) Hubbard, Cheryse, Lauryn (Jacob) Rabon, and Danielle (Trevor) Snider. Steve and Catrina are also the grandparents of Ella and Emerlynn Keck, Hazel And Ivory Snider, Opal Hubbard, Xaelah and Xolani Ligabo . 

Emery Howdyshell assists Pastor Steve as our church’s Compassion Ministry/Pastoral Support. Emery makes ministry and evangelistic visits. He also provides information to new and perspective members among other duties. He began serving in this position in 2012. Before beginning this position, Emery served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He retired from the Post office in 2012 after 37 years. In his spare time, Emery enjoys history and spending time with his family. Emery and his wife Jane are the parents of Beth (Jim) Martin and Heather (Greg) Dickerson. They have six grandchildren: Jeremiah Martin, Emerie, Henry, Greta, Norah, and Clara Dickerson. Emery and Jane recently welcomed their first great-grandchild, Isaac Isaiah Martin.

Karen Westenbarger has served as our church secretary since 2003. Among her duties are maintaining church membership and ministry records, creating and printing the church bulletin, and assisting Pastor Steve. Away from the office, Karen enjoys being outside and working in the family garden. Karen and her husband Chuck are the parents of Phil (Shawna) Westenbarger. They have two grandchildren, Ryanne Grace and Paul Jameson (PJ).

Mike Helber became our Custodial/Maintenance Director in 2004. Mike is responsible for upkeep and repairs that are need at both the Main Campus and the Heritage Center. Mike enjoys golfing, sports, and vacations with family. He also is active in our church’s missions ministry including coordinating various missions trips.Mike is married to Gayla Helber. Their family includes Mike’s daughter Chrissy and Gayla’s son, the late Kelsy Bowers. They are the grandparents of Jaiden, Mattison and Malaina.
